"The M90 Menace: How Hamas’s Rocket Attacks Are Shaking Tel Avi
Hamas' armed wing, known as the al-Qassam Brigades, announced on Tuesday that it had launched two "M90" rockets targeting the Israeli city of Tel Aviv and its surrounding suburbs.
According to the Israeli Air Force, one of the rocket launches was detected as crossing from the Gaza Strip and landing in the maritime zone in the central part of the country. However, this event did not trigger any policy alerts. Concurrently, another rocket launch was detected, but it did not manage to cross into Israeli territory.
Amidst these developments, Hamas remains steadfast in its position that any talks on a ceasefire in Gaza should revolve around a pre-existing agreement negotiated with Israel and international mediators. Meanwhile, reports from medical personnel indicate that Israeli airstrikes on Tuesday resulted in the deaths of 19 Palestinians in the central and southern regions of the Gaza Strip.
On the diplomatic front, the United States expressed its expectation on Monday that peace negotiations scheduled for Thursday would proceed as intended, suggesting that a ceasefire could still be achievable. According to a report by Axios, U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken was set to embark on a journey to Qatar, Egypt, and Israel starting Tuesday to engage in discussions.
The Israeli government has confirmed that it will be sending a delegation to the talks on Thursday. However, Hamas, the Palestinian militant organization that controlled Gaza prior to the ongoing conflict, has emphasized the need for a viable strategy to implement the already-accepted proposal rather than initiating further discussions.
