Mecca Prepares: 12,000 Mosques Set for Ramadan

 

As the holiest month in the Islamic calendar approaches, Mecca, the spiritual heart of Islam, is bustling with preparations. With Ramadan just around the corner, the city is gearing up to welcome millions of pilgrims and worshippers from around the world. A significant aspect of this preparation is the readiness of over 12,000 mosques spread across Mecca.

Throughout the city, these mosques play a crucial role as hubs for community meetings, prayer, and introspection throughout Ramadan. The mosques are kept clean, maintained, and equipped with everything required to accommodate guests, thanks to the oversight of imams and other religious leaders. new facilities are being built for iftar, the meal served to break the fast after dark, as well as new prayer spaces to accommodate the influx of visitors.
